STANDARD SUMMER ENGLISH PROGRAM

VES provides 2-week intensive Summer English as a Second Language program (along with other select summer programs in Toronto) to international students. These students are offered the opportunity to integrate with native Canadian students. Our VES summer students will enjoy an authentic Canadian experience during their summer with us.

Our waterpark trip is one of the most popular attractions and is perfect for beating the heat during the hot summer months. TORONTO CITY TOUR

Our tour takes you to all the must-see landmarks and hidden gems of Toronto, including the CN Tower, the iconic Toronto Islands, and the historic Distillery District. You'll also have the opportunity to explore diverse neighborhoods like Chinatown, Little Italy, and Kensington Market, where you'll experience the city's vibrant culture and unique cuisine.

UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO CAMPUS TOUR

As part of our program giving you the opportunity to explore one of the world's top-ranked universities. Our campus tour will take you through the beautiful and historic University of Toronto campus, where you'll see the stunning Gothic-style architecture, lush gardens, and state-of-the-art facilities. You'll also have the chance to visit the university's world-class libraries, museums, and research centers.

ENGLISH ACTIVITIES

1. SUMMER RESIDENCE
Students will be housed in a modern dormitory residence facility in quad occupancy rooms. STRONG SECURITY There are permanent 24-hour staff in the residence to provide information and assistance to students as needed. For added security, the elevator and residence floor doors are locked which can only be accessed by residences. There will also be a security guard who will patrol the residence floors everyday throughout the nighT.
2. MEAL PLAN
Food quantity and quality are our priorities. Warm, fresh, and healthy food is what we want all of our guests to experience during their stay at VES Summer Camp. Our professional Meal Planner provides nutritious and plentiful food for everyone to enjoy. We are happy to accommodate any dietary restrictions upon request. Our food is guaranteed to give campers the energy they need for their busy and exciting programming!
3. AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES
HALF-DAY - Offered each weekday between lunch and dinner 1:5 small group guided studies TORONTO CITY TOUR 1 - CITY PASS CN TOWER, CASA ROMA CASTLE, ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM, RIPLEY’S AQUARIUM OF CANADA and ONTARIO SCIENCE CENTRE (or TORONTO ZOO)
4. WEEKEND EXCURSIONS
FULL-DAY AND OVERNIGHT - Offered each weekend, a Mix of cultural and tourist attractions NIAGARA FALLS DAY TRIP CANADA’S WONDERLAND OR TORONTO ISLAND AND HARBOURFRONT
5. HEALTH INSURANCE
HEALTH INSURANCE Health insurance coverage is provided for all students and group leaders Prescription medicine and hospital visits require payment up-front, which can be reimbursed after making a claim to the insurance provider. Doctor visits do not require any payments.

6. CLASSROOMS
Classes will take place at the Cestar High School or Century Private School buildings on the campus. On public holidays, classes will adjust to use spaces provided to us by the Residence for alternative classes that day.
7. PROGRESS REPORTS, CERTIFICATE, AND GRADUATION
At the end of the program, each student will receive a report card from their teachers that includes comments and suggestions for improvement Each student will receive a VES Certificate, presented during our completion ceremony.
8. TESTING
TESTING Students will take an online initial evaluation test before their arrival. Students will be placed in classes based on their English level, not age. Our classes are named after Canadian animals, and while in our classes, all levels will be kept confidential from students unless requested. Students will take the English level test again at the end of their program, which will measure student’s progress in English since arriving.
